What is a Maxi? A true Maxi was designed and built purely as a racing machine. They cost millions of dollars and Maxi yachts are 22 metres and over in length. Sailing on a Maxi combines the sheer size and power with the thrill of speed. Together with their fascinating racing history the Maxi yachts make for an unforgettable sailing experience, and overnight Maxi sailing adventures are unique to the Whitsundays! The Maxi adventure allows you the opportunity to participate, take the wheel, hoist the sails and grind the winches on some of the most famous yachts in racing history, whilst visiting the very best destinations the Whitsundays has to offer.

Condor- 23.6m in length, the Condor is perhaps the most famous Maxi yacht in history, having won every major ocean race in the world twice! Condor is the only yacht to achieve this distinction. These races include such highlights as the Sydney to Hobart, Fastnet, Bermuda Cup, World Maxi Championship, Porto Cervo Maxi Series and Antigua Race Week just to name a few.
Broomstick- 23m in length and accommodates 21 people. Broomstick was built in South Africa to win the Cape Town to Rio Yacht Race. From there she went on to compete in many of the world`s most famous blue water events including the Sydney to Hobart. As a true Maxi, she is big, comfortable and very fast. She finished racing in 2000 and was converted to charter in 2001 - but beware! Her racing spirit still remains.
Hammer- 22.5m in length and accommodates 19 people, it is indeed a true Australian yachting legend. Throughout her racing career, Hammer competed in many blue water events and was best know for her five consecutive placings in the Sydney-Hobart, including the line honours in the 50th Anniversary of the event.

Before your cruise commences, the day prior if possible, please check in to see the reservations staff at Oz Adventure Sailing' main office on Shute Harbour rd - you will receive a pre-departure brief. This brief will go through all the things you need to remember before joining the yacht.
Regardless of your choice of yacht from ProSail's Maxi fleet you will be taken on an unforgettable sailing adventure. You can participate in sailing, snorkel over coral reefs, swim, bushwalk and visit the icons of the Whitsundays such as Whitehaven Beach. Maxi yachts encourage socialising and lots of action and are geared towards guests seeking an exciting and truly unique collection of experiences.
What to bring: Swimmers and beach towel, hat (preferably with tie cord), sunscreen, practical clothing and footwear, sunglasses, camera & film, BYO drinks on non licenced vessels, your fav music CD'S all in a small soft bag.
Note: Price does not include the Marine & National Park Entrance/Admin fees/GST of approx $33 p/p subject to change. Fuel levy $4 per person paid on arrival.
